What is counselling?
During our initial session with adults, I will help you to explore deeply into your concerns and help you to create a plan for addressing them. With children, I will help and support them through creative play and take it at their pace. Children requires a completely different approach than adult therapy. Their healing to trauma happens through play, creativity, and felt safety rather that traditional talk therapy.
Many people go to counselling to feel better when they’re dealing with mental health problems like depression and anxiety. Some of the negative feelings they might experience include, constant worry about relationships or finances.
• Emotional stress
• Trouble sleeping
• Harmful habits
• Thoughts of Self Harm
• Feeling hopeless
These feelings can make life hard. They can affect your private, social and working relationships and your family.
My Approach
I work in a humanistic way also known as person centred.
Person centred approach believes that the client is able to make changes to their lives with the help and guidance of a professional therapist. It is about harnessing the clients natural healing process.
Using an Integrative approach is aimed at matching evidence-based treatments with each client’s particular needs.
The first step is to discover and understand the client’s individual personality traits, preferences, needs, spiritual beliefs, openness and motivation level. These factors along with their health and age will help me use my professional judgment to decide on a treatment approach with the highest likelihood of success.
We will work together to regularly evaluate your progress.
